Why I love this time of year
Walking around a sunny Warwick campus, I feel joyful. But it’s not the sun. its that the campus has suddenly come alive again as Welcome Week is under way. I see hundreds of (mostly) young people finding their way around, seeking out friends and thirsty for a new experience. So despite the leaves starting to fall from the trees and my office being in that awkward space between the warmth of summer and the heating being turned on, I am full of joy. There is a queue over a hundred metres long going into the sports centre for the clubs and societies fair, students are starting to find their bearings and frankly the place has come alive.
So welcome to Warwick to new students. You’re going to have a fabulous time!
