Start of term

So the Christmas decorations are coming down, you’ve finished the turkey, met ALL your relatives and been to many parties. So now you start to think about going back to university. A couple of quick tips:

  1. If you are behind with work, don’t ignore it. You must know that many of your friends are too. But pretending nothing is wrong isn’t going to help you when the deadline looms and you haven’t done the coursework or revised for that exam.
  2. So you have the chance to get back into your studies a few days early. It’s amazing how much you can get done if you don’t have the usual distractions of the term. Either get your work out at home and make some progress. Or maybe go back to uni a few days early.
  3. You have probably put your studies out of your mind for a couple of weeks – and that is fine. But now is a great time to look at your plans and see where you are with your work. Be brutally honest but don’t panic yourself. What do you need to do by when? And you have a few days to make some progress so your return won’t be so stressful.
  4. You might like to look at my blogs on New Years Resolutions which take you through the steps to make lasting change in your life. This involves taking stock, working out what you do well and then planning in a very specific way. I guarantee that if you follow these steps, you will be able to make massive changes in your life.

So thats it. Enjoying the last few days of holiday but also preparing for your studies!
